Terms of Service
Last updated: June 2026
ArchPermit is in early access. This is a plain-language summary of how the product works and where its limits are — it is not legal advice and does not replace a signed agreement for paid engagements.
1. What ArchPermit is
ArchPermit is software that helps you prepare a draft permit package for an accessory dwelling unit (ADU). It resolves your project to a jurisdiction, assembles a source-cited requirements checklist, reads documents you provide, and produces a draft package. ArchPermit is not a licensed architect, engineer, attorney, or permit expediter, and using ArchPermit does not create any such professional relationship.
2. Nothing is permit-ready until a licensed professional seals it
A draft package produced by ArchPermit is watermarked and is not suitable for submission on its own. It becomes submission-ready only after an independent, licensed professional reviews it, takes responsible control, and applies their seal. That professional — not ArchPermit — is responsible for the sealed work product.
3. Requirements may be incomplete or out of date
Permit requirements change and vary locally. ArchPermit cites its sources and flags items that need local verification, but you are responsible for confirming the exact requirements, forms, fees, and code edition with your local permitting authority before relying on them.
4. Your content
You keep ownership of the project details, documents, and files you upload. You grant ArchPermit permission to process them to provide the service. Don't upload anything you don't have the right to share.
5. Reviewer engagements
ArchPermit is not a licensed architecture or engineering firm and does not perform or supply the review or seal. When you request licensed review, ArchPermit only connects you with an independent, freelance licensed professional. That professional sets their own fee, which you approve before any work begins, and you pay the reviewer directly— ArchPermit does not set the fee, collect it, or take a commission. The reviewer's professional obligations run to you directly.
6. Plans & payment
You can prepare one ADU project for free. ArchPermit Pro is a paid subscription (currently $39/month or $390/year) that adds unlimited projects, AI document intelligence, package generation and export, and priority reviewer sourcing. Subscriptions are billed through Stripe, renew automatically until cancelled, and can be cancelled anytime from your billing portal — cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period. The Pro fee is separate from, and never a substitute for, the independent reviewer's fee: paying for ArchPermit does not make any package permit-ready.
7. Acceptable use
Don't use ArchPermit to break the law, misrepresent sealed work, submit a draft as if it were sealed, or attempt to disrupt the service. We may suspend accounts that do.
8. No warranty; limitation of liability
During early access ArchPermit is provided "as is," without warranties. To the maximum extent permitted by law, ArchPermit is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for permitting outcomes that depend on third parties and local authorities.
9. Changes & contact
We may update these terms as the product evolves; material changes will be reflected here with a new date. Questions? Reach us from inside the app.
